Judging of each Seafood Excellence Award is undertaken by a panel of three industry experts including a Sydney Fish Market chair for each category with the exception of the Star of the Sea which will be assessed and selected by Sydney Fish Market’s Board.
The judging panel will select up to three finalists, including the winner for each category. Finalists in each category will each receive two invitations to the Sydney Fish Market Seafood Excellence Awards event on May 18th in Sydney where the winners will be announced.
The judging panel’s decision will be final and no discussion will be entered into.
The judging panel will evaluate each nomination against the judging criteria for each category. It will mark each criterion out of five, with each criterion receiving equal weighting.
Nominations should, therefore, provide comprehensive information about the nominee, and strong evidence of how, and to what degree, the nominee meets the criteria. Where possible the nomination should include quantitative as well as qualitative evidence. Importantly, the nomination should state where a criterion is not applicable to a nominee.
Any reference to the seafood industry applies to wild-catch and aquaculture and any segment of the supply chain.
An ‘entity’ means a person, partnership, business or organisation.
Where the award criterion refers to an ‘activity’ it may apply to an on-going role of the nominee, a one-off project, or an event undertaken or managed by the nominee.
